The Saints Disabled Supporters Association are having an open day At St Mary's stadium on Tuesday afternoon, why not pop down and meet a few legends and find out more about the sterling work done by them.

The SDSA are inviting all Saints supporters to find out more about their great organisation by popping down to the Dell Cafe Bar behind the Kingsland Stand on Tuesday 25th August between 2 - 6pm.

You will have the chance to meet some Saints legends including hopefully Francis Benali, Lawrie McMenemy, Matt Le Tissier, Mark Dennis, Jim Steele, Reuben Agboola and hopefully a current player or two.

The SDSA has to official ambassadors Francis Benali and Paul Jones

Francis Benali agreed to become a SDSA Ambassador in April 2015.

Franny played for Saints between 1988 and 2003, making 370* appearances and scoring 1 goal, and was club captain. He played his entire career at Saints, apart from a brief loan spell with Nottingham Forest.

Paul Jones agreed in March 2011 to become a SDSA Ambassador.

Paul played for Saints between 1997 and 2004, making 223* appearances for the Saints and was the Player of the year in 1998.

The SDSA are very grateful to Both Francis & Paul for agreeing to become Ambassador's, especially as they has many other good causes to fill their time.

But there is more, also on display is the first ever cup won by the club, this being the Hampshire Junior Cup that the club then called Southampton St Mary's won in its inaugural season of 1887/88.

The first ever competitive game for the club came in this competition when they travelled to play Totton in a field behind the Anchor Hotel at Redbridge winning 1-0, further wins against Petersfield 10-0, Lymington 4-0 & Bournemouth Arabs 2-1 in the semi final saw a drawn final against Southampton Harriers 2-2 played at the County Ground in Northlands Road, Saints then won the replay 2-1 to become the first name to be inscribed on the trophy.

Saints Disabled Supporters Association (SDSA) was formally setup during a meeting held at St Mary’s stadium in September 2010. At the meeting, the initial 5 supporters that had the idea for the SDSA, asked for extra supporters to form the first committee. The committee of 8 have met monthly since, and have started to build strong links with Southampton FC to allow meaningful discussions when issues arise.

The committee would like to make Saints the best club for disabled supporters in the Premiership, and so need any issues passed to them so that we can discuss them with the club. Without your help the club will not know what the problems are, and therefore will not be able to improve the matchday experience of Disabled fans at St Mary’s. They also need any issues that Disabled supporters have when visiting away grounds.

Membership is free, and is open to anyone. Anyone under 16 can also become a member for free, but will not include a vote.
