A survey conducted by an online dating site has come to the conclusion that supporters of Southampton Football Club are the best looking in the Premier League.

Online dating site match.com has announced the results of their poll to find out the most attractive supporters in the Premier League and Saints have come out 2nd, thats the good news, the bad is that winners are Bournemouth, although in fairness they have always had a reputation for beach boy prettiness.

The survey polled over 1,000 supporters who were asked which rival fans they would most like to date, the result was a stunning victory for the South Coast with Bournemouth pipping Saints by only 1% of the total vote.

The bottom two clubs were surprisingly Manchester United & Chelsea, although as they say beauty is only skin deep and these two clubs have there fair share of good looking fans, problem its also about personality and it has to be said they are probably the most arrogant.

One in four fans said they would never date a supporters of their local rivals and just one in nine said they would switch allegiances to the club of a new partner to keep them happy.

Another surprising stat was that only 1 in 5 said they had skipped a date to go to see their team play, I would say it would be far higher than that.

50% of those polled said they kept a healthy balance between their love life and following their team, but the problem is one mans healthy balance is different to the next man.

Relationship expert for Match.com Kate Taylor, said:

"Football might be the beautiful game, but emotions can run high in sport.

"As we already know, couples with shared interests last longest, so when searching potential dates on Match mobile, it's quite likely that fellow supporters will tickle your fancy."

"If you do accidentally fall for a rival fan you'll both have to exercise tact during football season.

"No taunts when your team wins, no sulking when theirs does - and never ask your partner to swap teams for you, or you're sure to find yourself being substituted."

At time of going to press the table for League Two has not been published although a source at match.com suggested that not one person polled had said they would date a Pompey fan, stating unkempt hair, badly drawn tattoo's, bell ringing & shouting "Scummer" in your sleep as all potential reasons why they would not consider dating a partner from the PO Post codes.
