All The Pressure Is On Jose Mourinho
Saturday, 3rd Oct 2015 08:59

If Saints can go to Stamford Bridge and play without fear, then the pressure will be on Chelsea.

The only real question to be answered at Chelsea Football Club is "When will they turn the corner ?" when you are a club with a squad with as much talent in it as they have got, it is only a question of when not if.

So Saints job this evening in West London is to make sure that the corner remains unturned

The longer that the drama continues at Stamford Bridge then the nearer it will be to a crisis and even Jose Mourinho is admitting that this is the most difficult period of his career.

The problem for the Blues is that it isn't just one big problem, its a series of small to medium ones and that can be difficult to work out which one to sort out first.

You would think and Chelsea fans would hope that Jose Mourinho has the talent and experience to sort it all out, but the manager does not seem to be coping well with the pressure judging by his outbursts, the issue with his medical staff was perhaps indicative that he is not thinking clearly and he allowed a relatively small issue to esculate into a very big one and in doing so he exposed the fact that he is not in total control although he is desperate to show he is.

In this weeks press conference he started to make accusations that "rats" the insinuation being that these were people inside Chelsea Football Club were leaking team news and other things to the press, this indicates that Mourinho is far from secure about his standing in Stamford Bridge.

The problem within football clubs is that managers and players come and go, but in general the rest of the staff are there on a more permanent basis, so when well respected staff members are treated badly and forced out of their jobs by a football manager who really should not be meddling in these things, then that manager will make enemies within the club and one downside of that is that those enemies will try to undermine the manager on many differing levels, some fairly trivial, others not so.

But they all add up to trouble with a capital T and Jose Mourinho is just starting to wake up to that fact and perhaps he will also realise that a lot of it is of his own making.

But his biggest problem is the John Terry issue, the Chelsea Captain is at that point where he is just past his best and that his performances will now only get worse rather than better, Mourinho will realise that, but tackling the problem is something else.

It has to be done delicately and it hasn't been helped by the fact that with Terry missing Chelsea have still been bad.

So Saints need to go to Stamford Bridge and make it worse for Mourinho, get a grip of the game and make sure that today is not the day that they turn that corner, make it a step nearer Mourinho having to leave the club before that corner is turned.
