Strangely the Liverpool Capital One Cup Quarter Final is still just short of a sell out, but there is a reason.

A look at the Club's new upgraded ticket system shows that all areas of the ground for the tie against Liverpool are sold out apart from the family section in the Itchen/Kingsland corner.

Here there are still around 300 tickets left for sale and there is a good reason why they have yet to sell out. Being in the family section it means that an adult must be accompanied by a child, meaning that no individual adult tickets can be sold.

That means that the game will creep towards a sell out, the Aston Villa game sold out in this are because it was half term meaning that many younger Saints fans were allowed to go, but for this game it is a school night meaning that many parents won't be allowing their younger children to attend a fixture that at the earliest will finish at 10pm and could go on till the best part of 11pm if it goes to extra time and penalties.

That has mant that many family section season ticket holders have not taken their seats for this game.

It does leave the way clear though for parents to take their children who would not normally get a chance to see a fixture of this importance.

Sadly though with a family section you have to stick to the rules and therefore not sell to those not taking children, however this is open to abuse as with tickets so cheap some adults will purchase an adult ticket alongside a £10 kids ticket that they will not use, whilst we do not condone this practice, at least it would mean that some seats might be filled that otherwise may well be empty.
