Swiss publication Blick are claiming tonight that both Southampton & Manchester City are chasing teenage midfielder Denis Zakaria.

Zakaria who won't turn 20 till November is a defensive midfielder who joined BSC Young Boys from Servette last summer for a fee of £200,000, that is looking a bargain after a great season where Zakaria was a rock in the Young Boys midfield as they finished second in the Swiss League.

Now it seems he has come to the attention of a number of clubs including Saints and Manchester City as well as Napoli in Italy and Bayer Leverkusen in Germany.

The fee to prise him away from Young Boys will be fairly significant though and that could put Saints and City in the driving seat to tempt him to the Premier League, what may be in Saints favour though is that if Victor Wanyama leaves then he will have a good chance of game time at St Mary's whereas if he goes to the Etihad he will more than likely go into their academy squad initially.

At 6ft 3 he appears to have the physical presence of Wanyama although a little less bulky and maybe more mobile.
