Saints Interested In Turkish Delight !
Sunday, 26th Jun 2016 08:18

Saints could be heading to Turkey to sign the man described by another potential Saints target, Fenerbahce boss Vitor Pereira as the new Yaya Toure.

Saints have allegedly joined Sunderland and Manchester United in the pursuit of Fenerbahce's Ozan Tufan.

The player who at 21 has already won 21 caps for Turkey is highly versatile and although he is primarily a holding midfielder he can also play at right back and even as a right winger.

Fenerbahce signed him for 7 million Euros only last August and already that fee is looking a bargain with several clubs circling, including Saints according to the latest media reports.

Everton are also interested but that is no surprise given that we have probably been monitoring him for a while and therefore Ronald Koeman would be likely to be aware of him.

Tufan has been Turkey's best player in Euro 2016 and tat has brought him to the attention of a wider audience, so Saints would face stiff competition should they persue their interest, Fenerbahce would be looking to at least treble their outlay last summer.

Think we're all going to be frustrated in the short term with Everton trumping any players we show an interest in. On the positive side Everton's pot isn't that big compared to that of Chelsea or Man City's. Also they might go for marquee names to excite their fans.

It occurred to me overnight that Sir Les may be smarter than many of us have given him credit for. Come Africa Cup of Nations in Feb, we may be quite pleased to have moved Mane on and brought in a non-African replacement. Could be six games out. Also possibly Wanyama although it looks less likely that Kenya will qualify.

Haven't seen Tufan play but, as you say, no surprise that RK is aware of his talents if Saints have been watching him with interest. Also noted apparent interest from RK in Spiderman should he not fit into Manure plans for the coming season. Now that is one player who I think every Saints fan would welcome back with open arms. Cheque book time Les?

Morgan was playing in the French team when at Southampton. Moving to a bigger club has elevated him to the French bench where he has done nothing all summer and is still getting paid a fortune. What's not to like?

It is clear if any of the top 8 teams want a player we wont be getting him, I bet Norwich were told let Redmon go because the fa see him as a future England player, and when I say future England player I mean do a couple of seasons at Saints wonderful academy and use there training facilities and then he'll go to Arsenal because it will be time for Ox and Walcott to jog on, he wont be good enough while playing for us, coyr and welcome NR
