Saints Set To Beat West Ham To French Bargain
Saturday, 9th Jul 2016 16:30

Saints are set to beat Premier League rivals West Ham United to a bargain from the French League due to the Claude Puel connection.

Saints are on the verge of signing 27 year old free agent Jeremy Pied who has worked under Claude Puel before both at Lyon and at Nice.

Pied is a versatile player who is primarily a right back or right winger, although he also has the ability to play in both roles on the left hand side.

Out not a regular starter at Nice under Pull last season, the new Saints boss knows his capabilities and although he wont be a first choice player at St Mary's by any means, on a free transfer he will be a useful addition to the squad, especially with a minimum of six matches to undertake in the Europa League this season.

No move on the 'whelm' index from 'under' to 'over' yet then.

I presume Martina will be surplus to requirements as has been recently discussed on here. Pied can also play in midfield I believe but I'd like to think that we will be seriously in the bidding if Morgan isn't part of United's plans this summer.

What's the point in blocking the academy 'pathway' for a very average squad player by the looks of it! Hope this is paper talk

I still don't think we have a Premier League quality right back, even with Soares in the European final. I imagine that the reason he ran his contract down at Nice was the lack of play time. If he's coming here then Puel must believe he's better than what we have and expect him to seriously challenge for a starting role.

I'm not sure he is coming. I think it's an easy and compelling story for the papers to run and it will continue to run until this player finds a club.

Get over it. Schneiderlin will not be coming back at any price.

seriously hope this is paper talk...at 27 year old utility player that wasn't worthy of a regular start last season is not only a waste of wages but a waste of game time for the kids. Sounds like a Lowe signing (free=good value)
