Saints Linked With Jack Wilshere
Friday, 11th Nov 2016 08:38

Saints are one of a number of clubs being linked with a summer bid for Jack Wilshere in the summer.

Jack Wilshere seems to be enjoying life down on the South Coast, after barely playing last season for his parent club Arsenal and his chances of a regular game for the Gunners looking slim, he opted to join the Cherries and so far that has looked a good decision as he has started 7 of the 8 games he has played so far.

That has lead to speculation that he may leave the Emirates next summer on a permanent deal and Bournemouth will not be pleased to hear that they will have competition for his signature.

The Cherries are still the bookies favourite to land him permanently, but West Ham are 9/2 followed by Saints at 8/1 and then Everton and Crystal Palace on 10/1.

Wilshere is on loan at Bournemouth till the end of the season when he will return to Arsenal with only a year left on his contract.

This will be a key time for him, he is back playing regularly for Eddie Howe's side and his career is once more in the ascendancy, that could be good news for Bournemouth short term but not good in the long term as if they try to make the loan permanent next summer and Wilshere has had a successful season there will be clubs with a lot more to offer him financially than the Cherries can afford.

The key question next summer will be if Wilshere appreciates what Bournemouth have done for him and signs or whether it has merely been a stepping stone back to the top for him.

It would be nice to see that there is some loyalty in football, but that is a word more confined to the pages of newspapers these days rather than actually being applied by professional footballers.

I thought it was supposed to be Cabaye or Schneiders? Looks rather like long odds guessing during a boring international break. In any case, how many frigging midfielders do we need or does Claude see him as the next Thierry Henry???

Never rated him, never will. Think he's one of those players who is his own best fan. Striker please.

I rate Wilshere and I think with the right attitude would be a great addition to our squad. I think someone like Puel is the ideal coach to help him recapture the exciting player he was 5-6 years ago.

All those saying he isn't good enough to play for saints should go and sit down. It wasn't too long ago that we would have jumped at the chance to sign Wilshere. He just needs more game time and I respect him for going to Bournemouth on-loan instead of warming the Arsenal bench.

Of course Wenger & Puel are old muckers of a sort so anything is possible...

According to FIFA rankings, Senor Pellegrino is ranked 40th in the world at present. soundcloud to mp3 https://soundcloudtomp3.io Only 5 premier league managers are ranked higher (Wenger, Conte, Pochettino, Pep G, and Mourinho). The rankings are based on win percentage and other factors.
