Southampton Women Start FA Cup Campaign Against Swindon Town Today
Sunday, 14th Nov 2021 09:07

Why not pop along and see how the women's team is coming along when this afternoon they take on Swindon Town in the 1st round of the Women's FA Cup at the Snows Stadium home of AFC Totton.

The Saints women's team is slowly but surely making it's way up the pyramid system in the women's game, their progress up the leagues disrupted by the Covid 19 pandemic, the ultimate aim is to reach the Premier League and that looks likely due to the infrastructure that is being put in place with the backing of Southampton FC.

But it is a break from the League this weekend when they take on Swindon Town in the 1st round of the FA Cup at AFC Totton, last season the club reached the last 16 of the competition beating AFC Bournemouth, Plymouth Argyle, Yeovil United and Championship side Lewes FC before finally going out to Birmingham City.

As it's an FA Cup fixture, season tickets will not be valid on Sunday. This means everyone will have to pay an additional fee, however it is a bargain price.

Adults - £3
Under-18s — Free

Tickets can be bought in advance using the link below or pay on the gate.

ESPN published the result of the game online before the Southampton FC website today, although in fairness a match report followed there not long after. I don’t understand why there is no live text commentary on their games. They are clearly far too good for their present league and deserve all the support we can give them in their progress towards the WPL. At least when they reach it they will have earned it unlike certain other teams.
