Adam Lallana Set To Miss Return To St Mary's
Friday, 3rd Dec 2021 09:44

Brighton have a mini injury crisis on their hands with Graham Potter confirming that he is going to be without 3 of his star players ahead of the trip to Southampton on Saturday, ex Saint Adam Lallana amongst the injury list.

After a great start to the season the Seagulls have started to find things a lot tougher, although they have only lost 2 of the last Premier League games, they are yet to win one in a run that will date back 74 days when they run out at St Mary's.

But they are likely to be missing four of their squad, Steve Alzate has been out with an ankle problem since September, but he has now been joined on the sick list by Adam Lallana (thigh), Adam Webster (calf) and Jeremy Sarmiento (hamstring).

Graham Potter would not reveal how long they would be out but did say this about his injured quartet:

There's no good news, but no bad news either, It's still early days in terms of assessing everything.

“There's nothing to report, other than all those three will not be available at the weekend"

Alzate will not be a big miss, he has not played much this season with only 2 appearances and the last of those being back in September, but Lallana has started 12 of the Seagulls Premier League matches plus another sub appearance and been a crucial part of their team,.

Adam Webster has only started half of their Premier League fixtures although it was injury that saw him miss most of September & October and he has been a first choice since his return.

Sarmiento am Ecuadorian International has yet to get in the first team, although he has appeared in the last two Premier League games off the bench.

Ralph has just said at his Press conference Forster has picked up an injury in training, Armstrong is still out and Stephens is back.

I didn't hear anything on Diallo.

Happy that they cant call on Lallana and Webster. We will still need to work hard to keep the likes of Lamptey quiet though.

Brighton last year at home was one of our worst performances of the season, they totally outplayed us.

Hoping we can turn that around.

Previously we would have looked on this as a near banker for three points but things may be different now. Very disappointing that FF is likely to be unavailable, similarly Stuart Armstrong. Hope Che can keep up his goal scoring form preferably with Borja to start too, then Adam Armstrong coming on later to try and get his season back on track. Think Redmond has been very good recently but would like to see Djenepo back in the side. Think Tino needs to improve his defensive work otherwise KWP should be switched back to his preferred side.
