Stadium Expansion on 20:50 - Apr 19 with 3896 views | Lord_Bony | Well considering we re about to embark on our fourth campaign in the prem in August surely there must be some pressure on the board now to get things moving and fast. The plans for the extra 11k has been approved by the council, now there is NO EXCUSE to be dragging our feet on this one...it will be great for the club and fans.

Stadium Expansion on 20:59 - Apr 19 with 3846 views | tomdickharry | Can we stop this thread now before it gets to endless posts about nothing. We do not have full planning permission to expand the stadium, this has been all detailed in the Trust minutes some weeks ago. We will not see any expansion for at least 18mnths if then.

That is unfortunate. It's not like we are struggling financially and are in desperate need of expansion just yet... But one day, would be fantastic if we could get Landore railway station up and running and the ground expanded..Massive potential there for us to maximise revenue given we would may be the only PL club in the south west

Well it got approved by the council in January did nt it? We got the smallest ground in the league with an estimated 10,000 people waiting for season tickets....should nt be a problem to at least make a start..surely?

Stadium Expansion on 21:35 - Apr 19 with 3731 views | mark555 | Out of interest, does anyone know what it would roughly cost to build a 30,000 seater stadium from the ground?, Nothing fancy or complicated, a similar bowl shape to the liberty but with more bars and food facilities under the stands.

Go to the Trust web site and look at the minutes of the last or last but one board meeting its all spelt out by the fans representative on the Swans Board.
Stadium Expansion on 00:48 - Apr 20 with 3489 views | jack_lord | The ground has had the expansion approved subject to a transport plan which the club and council could sort out in a matter of no time, just like Cardiff City did. The problem is that the directors can not award themselves another massive payment if they go ahead.

Stadium Expansion on 02:50 - Apr 20 with 3425 views | Parlay | Cardiff's 26,500 with room for expansion cost £48m to buld and £6m for the land. Doncasters 16,000 Keepmoat cost £24m plus £4m for the land. The cost of the land would be more like Doncasters and the cost of the build would be more like Cardiffs - £50 million ball park. Basically a no go.

Stadium Expansion on 04:55 - Apr 20 with 3385 views | dameedna | Our core support in the Championship or League 1 will still be round the 15,000 to 10,000 for the next ten years or so. We have a new stadium that could see us through the next decade if we start to yo yo, which is highly probable after this season. We will need to continue spend our revenues/profits next season on the squad and training facilities. Expenditure on training facilities is ongoing and a good academy breeds long term support. Even a quality second string will bring in the punters. We are a small club. The capacity of Fulham is 25,700, Reading is 24,161. Reading is the best model we could follow so we are with a few thousand jiggery pokery, about the same capacity as Reading and Fulham by next season.

Stadium Expansion on 21:15 - May 18 with 3021 views | airedale | I keep getting this niggle that the delay may have something to do with ownership of the asset. Why would (or could) a business justify paying for development work to someone else's property? It would be like giving money away. Some time ago a footballing authority (FIFA?) were questioning the financial arrangement between the Swans and the [cash strapped] local authority. How would it look to these people if the Swans paid for development of something we don't own? Also, if the board are considering buying the asset, then they would need the money for that before paying to extend it. Just saying like, if it was me I'd like to own it before getting Bodgit and Scarpere (builders) in. Oh, almost forgot, if we ever get to own the stadium, then that would make the Swans a vastly more attractive option for someone to purchase. [Post edited 19 May 2014 13:48]

Stadium Expansion on 21:36 - May 18 with 2930 views | Catullus | I see no reason why we can't increase to 25000 now. Putting it off us a mistake, we can use the same excuses ad infinitum. If we are actually to grow as a club, we need more bums on more seats. It really is that simple.

Stadium Expansion on 23:06 - May 18 with 2733 views | Glyn1 | We're the smallest ground in the Premier League, and there are lots of clubs in the Championship who are also bigger than us. Build the extension now while we have the money to do so.
