Could you confirm that there was a bookshop (possibly a branch of the uplands bookshop) on the kingsway at one stage? I believe it was in the same premises as the milkmaid.

I don't think it was the in the same place as where the Milkmaid was, though! Didn't the bookshop have a back entrance that you could go out into Marks and Spencer's car park?

Very proud to be voted Planet Swans Poster of the Year 2017 by my fellow posters. Especially on a site that nearly had 20 million impressions last year.

There was also a great place on lower High Street ( opposite where Argos is now) called In think Paperback Parade.


It's a shame that bookshops seem to be dying out.

There was a second hand book store in Dilwyn St called Ralph the books, he'd buy any book you'd offer him. I made many a 30p there as a kid
