Working on the basis that Lita finally goes, Vazquez does not return (if common sense prevails), N'Gog isn't signed permanently and Michu if he stays plays in his natural position, the question will be.... who will Swans sign/use to be either the backup or second striker for next season?

I know theres rumours about Bony leaving, but this is on the assumption that he stays.

Donnolly going to get a run in the first team as backup maybe?

I'd love Gary Hooper. Suits our style of play and is an excellent finisher.

Whilst I'd absolutely love to sign Borini, I'm not sure if he'd be a suitable second choice in the sense that if Bony were to go down (God forbid) then I wouldn't be comfortable with starting a run of games up front on his own. If we were to sign Borini I imagine he would be used either as a second striker when we go two up top or out on the wing.

I'm not moaning, just stating a fact.

I'm just glad the club don't take advise off this site.

Great shouts regarding Gary Hooper.Really like him. Also like Weimann from Villa, a real tryer and can score in this league too.Another is Berahino at West Brom, bags of talent and still a young kid.One more shout and once he's fit again maybe Kone from Everton. Can't see him playing much for them even when he's fit and I think we could get him for a couple of mill.

The problem is anyone coming in to be a backup is going to knew that we play one up front, and that one is going to Bony the vast majority of the time. I doubt people like Borini or Soriano would want to come here to mostly sit on the bench.

Borini has to be high up and also has the ability to play out wide.

Others also to think on are Soriano, Alan (both of Salzburg) Vincent Aboubakar, Michy Batchuayi, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting.

That's just a few but the list could be endless.

You made up that last name didn't you?

Borini, 21 appearances and only 4 goals, I know it is Sunderland, but you must be kidding.
Talk about no ambition.

I said similar a few weeks ago and was shot down as usual. We need better. He isn't worth the fee and wages he'd command.

You could play Borini pretty much anywhere offensively.Doesn't necessarily have to play as a striker. He's a wanderer and can be found all over the pitch.Bony keeps his position up top unless defending a corner.

Like out next manager, our next striker will come from leftfield. I mean, who had heard of Bony if they were to tell the truth this time last season ?

He should not be considered the second striker. It's better to consider him as someone who can play striker if needed.

He will either bounce back in a white shirt after realising how good his life is or move on at a considerable profit. 2 mill invested - maybe get 6 or 7 ) Either way its a team player we need, not a huge ego.

What are we really after? An alternative to Bony when he's unavailable? An impact attacking sub? Someone to play alongside Bony when we are desperate for a goal?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Quite like the look of Berahinio (sp?) from West Brom. Would bring something different, not really sure he suits playing up there on his own, but in an ideal world Michu would never be far off. Always on the bench and West Brom, but is their top scorer or thereabouts.

Really , I thought that Michu guy did ok last year playing as a striker .

I'd put him up there ahead of any other mentioned on this thread while Bony is away for a couple of weeks.

We will get some one in probably on loan again ,as I can't see a fringe player coming to be a fringe player for Swansea ,well certainly no one who wants to play week in week out.
