What should be goal/s for season?

Poll: John Terry transfer ?

Amazes me when people say 17th would be fine.

Yes we all want to stay in the league but 17th would be a poor season for us. Gotta be looking at around 12th at least.

I think the many new players will take a lot longer time to integrate into the squad then many think.

We desperately need a creative midfielder or els we are to easy to play against.

When said, realisticly 9-12 th place.

While I don't disagree that another creative midfielder would be welcome, a midfield three of Britton, Allen and Gylfi did pretty well for half a season (with Kemy and Gower filling in now and then).

Three from Britton, Shelvey, Gylfi, Ki and Fulton is an improvement in anyone's eyes. So easy to play against will hopefully be wide of the mark.

17th will be fine.( Goal difference will separate about 6 teams. I cant reveal my source but he lives in the sky and he has a white flowing beard)

Under Project Garry, I'm afraid I am in the BYHOFS camp for this year.

It might work. It might not.

Not many talk about it. But I am really excited about how our new goalkeeper will do. How important that position is can not be underestimated.

Feck setting goals and settling for 17th.

The fans wouldn't accept 17th they'd be calling for the managers head by Christmas and most of the better players would be looking to leave as well.

the only way to approach this season & any season is for the team to treat every league game like a cup final.
We set out to try & win every game.

Huw Jenkins had a dig at Laudrup last year about being 'realistic' about our chances against the top 6.
Feck em, get into them and try and beat them.

Swansea City thrive on being the team punching above their weight. The times when the team relax and ignore this is when we'll go on a losing streak.

End of thread!

Why do you care we're going down anyway?

At times last season, it felt like we were fighting for PL survival. I reserve judgment until I watch the first match. It's looks ok on paper, but we play on grass(ish), however, with all the change in players it might take time to gel. Lets all get behind GM and his team.

Survival in the Prem is vital of course but we are discussing realistic targets and surely finishing between 8th-14th is realistic.

One thing that's important to me though is our Club's standing in the grand scheme of things. Ever since we arrived in the Prem, our style of football and the financial prudence with which the club is run have been the envy of just about everyone in football and has filled me with a great deal of pride whenever I am discussing the Swans with anyone.

I think it's realistic to want that to continue.

Just one man's opinion, i like everyone else on here would love them to win the league and all cups however for me the main goal is to stay in the league. If that is achieved i would deem it a successful season. It is by no means a low goal to set as the Redbirds so ungraciously found out

Still need new signings to strengthen the squad

Another Goalkeeper
Top quality Right back
Another Winger

Address these properly and around 7th is not impossible, 😳😳😳

As we are... 14th ish 😊

All of this depends on Monk of course, & how much he can get out of these players⚽️👍

With the players we now have we must be fighting tooth and nail for a top ten finish.
We have got quality and essentially speed within the squad, I am really excited for the start of the season and hope that the Monkster gets a good season in his belt.

Realism is different for all of us.

I'd be happy with 8-14 and at least a good cup run, ground expansion and keeping Bony!
But if the last two are achieved, I'd be ok with no being in danger in the final month.

Just my opinion, but WTF do I know anyway?
