These friendlies are an unfortunately necessity.
Whilst we view them as an opportunity to try out differing options, how many of the lesser teams we play actually give it greater priority, come what may, to win the bragging rights of beating a PL team? Thus an increasing number of contact injuries. I don't mean to demean lesser team but it was the only way to make my point. 
The management and backroom staff need to watch this situation carefully, and I'm sure they do, as players are already injured for our opening match. |  |

Short, sharp intense training in steps... the more you train.. the less likely injuries will occur.. train correctly though.. after Christmas they should revaluate the training schedule for specific periods of rest on individuals.. <- this is the most important part of the season.. players must be honest about their fitness.. (f*ck knows if it's correct.. it's just a guess..no googling, books etc... I say on instinct) |  |
