Yeah that'll become possible with the new Vauxhall Jihad. It has a 2 litre engine and enough seats for your twelve virgins once you get to Jannah.

You will not be able to speed or park illegally in them though.

Driverless cars to be allowed on Swansea roads next year! on 09:56 - Jul 31 with 761 views | Clinton | It's a pity the folks who designed the road system in Central Swansea aren't as clever as the ones who built these cars. If they can get round our City centre they can do it anywhere.

If there's no one driving them, who's committing suicide ? You'd have to be pretty stupid to sit in the back if you sent one of these out on a mission.

Ah, that's on oldie but a goodie. We still get letter in work from your type asking us to de-register their vehicles so that they can be the "owner " of their private conveyance as well as the keeper. For some reason you've all got it into your heads that as soon as you register your car you give up legal title to it. It's complete nonsense of course but you do like to perpetuate it and waste lots of people's time an money replying to such halfwittery.

When you register anything you give up ownership. This is why the Police can confiscate the car if you don't pay up, otherwise it would be theft of private property. We own the equity in the car but not the deed and title. Just because you can't understand or refuse to acknowledge the concept it doesn't make it any less true

I completely understand the concept. I also have some considerable experience in this area, which is why I know you're talking rot. But I've also come to learn over the years that there is no reasoning with "Freeman" types. Which is why most government organisations have many of your firmly on the "do not reply to any more" list. They're brainwashed sheep of the worst kind.

Why register cars? Why are we compelled to do this? We don't have to register cycles. Who benefits from this? What does the registeree get from the process, a log book that says they aren't the owner just the keeper? You pay thousands of pounds for a car and then you are told you aren't the owner, so who is the owner?

The log book doesn't say that you're the keeper not the owner. It says that the registered keeper might not also be the owner of the car. Those words are there precisely because government isn't interested in who legally owns the car, only who's responsible for its day to day use on the roads for road safety and taxation purposes. To imply that the government becomes the owner of the car as soon as it's registered is nonsense. Pseudolegal woo.

You are compelled to register a vehicle so that if it is used and a road traffic collision occurs ( no such thing as an accident there is always blame), or the vehicle is used in a crime or some other form of illegal activity the appropriate law enforcement have a place to start their enquiries. It also assists in our own consumer rights protection for example you could make contact with the former keeper of the vehicle as shown on the V5 to ensure the vehicles mileage was accurate reason for sale etc. The reason it doesn't say you are the legal owner is because a large percentage of vehicles are bought on hire purchase or PCP and the vehicle does not belong to you until you make the final payment, the comment on ownership on the V 5 is a warning to purchasers to make further enquiries or HPI. So who is the legal owner, not the keeper? Why not just be named as legal owner, surely that's simpler. We own the equity, but not the title of legal owner, do you see the contradiction?
Driverless cars to be allowed on Swansea roads next year! on 22:23 - Jul 31 with 608 views | Pacemaker | Because the DVLA do not hold records on finance on vehicles. The fact that the vehicle is registered in your name does not mean you have paid off the finance and until you do the vehicle is still owned by the finance company or bank etc.

Not everyone buys on HP.The DVLA sells your details to private companies for financial gain. I'm sure that's against DATA protection. That's enough for tonight, the scratcher is calling me

Well the DVLA are acting like a parent telling you to be careful, they do this because a large number of purchasers don't use their common sense and then want to blame someone for being dull. As for selling information they charge for processing the enquiry you make under the DPA s29 which allows anyone on payment of a fee to access a specific index number to trace owners of vehicles involved in RTC, illegal parking etc.

They sell on your info because they own the rights to your deed and title, otherwise they would need to seek your permission, which is my whole point
