Proper little dads army they're building down there.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

The antithesis of our way of going about it. Give unproven talents a chance, rather than hand mega contracts to players looking for a pay day. I can't see this working. There are umpteen examples of this the world over that never works. It's why I'm glad we didn't/hope we don't get Saviola

Has 'arry's gerbil opened a bank account?

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

QPR have made some smart moves this summer. Locked down a solid central defensive partnership to build on and released a lot of deadwood.

Ferdinand and ron are a different class of old player from what they had two years ago.

Anyone who has seen Ronaldinho play in the last year or so will know that he is playing some of the best football of his career. That's an unbelievable signing if true.

Unfortunately QPR's location helps them a lot. We'd never sign anybody like this ever, simply cause of where we are.

Agreed. 'Arry seems to have reined in his desire to sign high-priced mercenaries so far. Rio may be in his career twilight, but he's always seemed a committed pro and he should teach Caulker a lot.

Signing Ronaldinho would be the antithesis of their sensible work so far this summer. So I hope they sign him.

Those players had a slightly more professional approach to football than Ronaldinho to be fair.

If he was that good these days, Atletico Mineiro would hardly have let him go. The excellent Tim Vickery thinks he'd be a terrible signing for QPR. Expect him to end up in USA or some other moneybags semi-retirement league. Qatar maybe.

I would almost hate this to happen, simply because I'd be find myself cheering a QPR signing.

It's Ronaldinho in the premier league, would love to see it.

You're comparing players who took an extremely professional approach to their lifestyle in terms of diet/excercise to ensure they could continue their career into their mid/late 30s with someone who hasn't taken the same approach.

Give Fat Sam his dues, they identified some great signings in those days. Seeing the likes of Djorkaeff and Okocha play was a pleasure.

Caught up to them in the end though with some pretty hefty debt even before relegation.

If only the chairman had got his way and convinced everyone to scrap relegation...
