If You Were Garry - Burnley (Home) 07:05 - Aug 21 with 1456 viewsPhil_S

The next league game is coming around quickly and our attention turns to the build up for the Burnley game this weekend at the Liberty and a consideration for what our starting line up may look like.

The temptation will be to go 442 with bony & gomis. I'd start with same 11 as manure. Gylfi gives us lots of attacking options , I'd keep Fernandez back until Rotherham mm midweek

Be over there now after

Is the correct answer, then experiment in the cup game and any players who do well there are in with a shot for the next league game.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

I would be surprised if he changed anything other than the bench

Only query is whether Leon is available or not, as IMO he will keep us ticking over better when we're pushing on the front foot, of which I expect us to be doing a lot more in this game.

I don't think FF will be put in straight away, but who knows.

4-4-2 would match us up with Burnley which we don't need to do.

Need to keep a winning 5 midfield and change it if we really have to.

Burnley's direct style will test our vulnerable defence for sure.

Leon won't be playing until mid-September.

Very important we win this game as a defeat would mean all last weekend's effort is completely wasted so same 11 to start for me and no mercy to be shown. We need to build on last weekend's confidence booster for the Burnley & WBA games.

Jeff in for Nathan might be acceptable but the Rangel/Dyer right hand side combo is important enough to our system to persist with until Jeff is fully integrated into our pattern.

I will be interested to see who is dropped to bring Leon in, Jonjo or Ki.

Flappy

Rangel Amat Williams Taylor

Ki (Britton if fit) Shelvey

Bony

Gomis for Bony if we're winning or losing 65 minutes.. Routledge to come on sometime an all.

normally id say since its burnley to throw gomis out in the starting IX but since we got the cup match on wednesday im down with this assessment, and start gomis on the weekday match.

id not mind seeing routledge start us out in a wing and rest up either jefferson or Dyer, but im not sure. i do think that we should be padding our defence and DM holders if we got the ability with the front facing arsenal we have... we don't really need the two forward.

Agreed also it would give Kieron Trippier something to think about. He would not be able to bomb forward so much with Montero's pace to worry about.
