My Uncle Joe was gassed and lost an eye in that abominable excuse for "diplomacy," yet I remember him as a very gentle man with a permanent smile, a great sense of humour and a fondness for telling us kids amusing stories on his front porch.
We lived next door to him for the first 8 years of my life, then a few doors up the street until he died. I remember him fondly. |  |

Just watching it now on Sky+. Some horrific tales about the true nature if war. It's glamourised in the movies. The reality of it is so much different.
