Located on Oystermouth Road, I see there is a public meeting tonight to try and get it restored to its original location.

Tonight at the 360 Cafe opposite St Helens, if anyone is interested.

If they can get the bridge back then good luck to them, but if (almost certainly!) it isn't going back, then I have to agree, get the rest of it down!

Is the steps part of it categorised as 'listed', hence why it wasn't removed?

Possibly? In which case, make some use of it and tidy it up though? Coffee shop in the arches? Ice cream parlour? I don't know, but it needs tidying up if it is to stay there.

That said, best of luck to those who are trying to get the bridge back.

Yes, good suggestion, a bit of a tidy and coffee shop in one of the arches and the others used. I remember it when I was a kid living in Sandfields and it used to be nice to wander down to the slip and have an cold drink there.

Pasty from The Clock cafe. Lovely!

The thing us, that area of town is not as popular as it once was. Good stretch if sand admittedly and a lot cleaner than when I was young but not the place to be in the same numbers.

I was born in the 70's and I only remember it as an unused blight on the landscape. I suspect those that want it back also hark after the mumbles tram

I suppose nostalgia plays a big part in it as tbh the bridge was not used that much.

Comparing it to the Mumbles Train however? That should never have been removed but hindsight is a precise science.

I couldn't care less if it's put back or not but the way the bridge supports have been left is a disgrace.

No. It's staying where it is.

Yep.

I think it is supposed to be some kind of iconic landmark, but it just looks tatty and gives the impression they can't be bothered disposing with it.

If they can restore it and get it back up then great, if not, just take it away. Traffic lights will ensure no one really uses it anyway.
