NATO has just started military exercises in Ukraine...the Russians won't stand for it and rightly so.
The balance of peace is being upset at the moment.
How would we like it if France suddenly voted for closer ties to Russia and invited their armed forces there to build missile bases,airfields and carry out military manouveseres?

The whole Malaysian airlines situation looks well dodgy too. Russia would have no reason whatsoever to shoot it down, it's been reported that it was possibly a false flag carried out by Ukraine to sway support and cause Russia to be made out to be the really bad guys.

you say Russians are in Ukraine but they are a volunteers, chances are there are Russian special forces helping with covert ops but we do that all the time unofficially so why condemn Russia for it. also its a well known fact that there are American NGOs (academi aka blackwater) helping the Ukrainians and America is also providing them with weapons. finally how do you know the anti kiev forces are responsible for downing the plane? only news we have so far regarding the incident is the plane was hit be multiple objects, as to whom was responsible is still to be determined.

The elected pro Russian government was overthrown this year and a right wing extreme government was hastily put in place inviting in the eu and NATO to come and build there.they have also turned on their own people with death squads etc.
The problem is it's right on Russia's doorstep.Putin took over Crimea because the people there voted to be part of Russia which is three miles away.

It's beyond belief that anyone here can try to defend Russia's actions in Ukraine. Invading a smaller country and helping yourself to large parts of their territory is a practice that belongs in the 15th century.

Russia's intervention into other European countries was a direct result of pushing back the Nazis then not giving those countries back.our concern at the time was they would keep on pushing and take over Europe.hence the Yalta summit in the Crimea where Churchill,Roosevelt and Stalin agreed on the map of post war Europe...I'm surprised a man of your intelligence does nt know this.
No one on here is condoning the acts of Russia and the eastern block in Soviet times FFs.
If the new government of ukraine was fairly elected by the people not put in after a coup then it would be much more easier to sympathise with them but that is not the case.
They are an illegal government who want to change hundreds of years of history in a few months.
The vast majority of the people of east ukraine want to be Russian.
It s not a simple argument like your trying to put forward,Putin is the bad guy trying to take back the old Soviet Union.russia is now SERIOUSLY THREATENED militarily if NATO starts building there.
