Interesting article, thanks for posting.

Having read that I can 100% state I am in no way a "troll".

I suggest it's an easy term to bandy about when people seem to be floundering as to what to respond when replying to certain posters.

All very interesting indeed.

We're not literally referring to a creature that lives under bridges, scaring goats Perch!

The term has been adapted for modern day reference to a person who intentionally seeks to annoy and cause grief online.

Although I tend to refer to them primarily as "tw@ts".

You wouldn't class yourself as a "troll" though would you?

I think where some people get confused in my particular case is thus; they make a wild statement and I ask for clarity. They then think I am "winding them up" or "trolling". I am not.

Um, what?!

There's a huge difference between what I've said in this thread, and what you are constantly bleating about.

My comment about trolls living under bridges, which I assume you are commenting on, is clearly different to your constant jibes and underhanded backhanded bullsh1t.

So yeah, I can see the irony, you need to read the original definition yourself of a troll!

Troll: NOUN
A mythical, cave-dwelling being depicted in folklore as either a giant or a dwarf, typically having a very ugly appearance.

That's odd, I haven't mentioned Dwight once in this thread. You have, several times.

Once more, posting statements which are intended to get a rise. You seeing a pattern here?

You're DYSS's white knight! You're always defending him. The fact you're claiming you haven't on this thread is meaningless - you look at every other thread where someone criticises the tool.

And no - I ain't biting!

It's got nothing to do with "biting". I am being perfectly serious.

It's clear to me that you are indeed the troll. Nobody else in this thread.

"The only effective antidote to their tactics is to ignore them, but even then trolls won’t suffer a public humiliation because nobody knows who they are. This is what makes trolling so ubiquitous — it requires no skills other than the ability to be obnoxious."

I'm not sure I agree with the last point. Perhaps there is skill involved. Might the fact that DYSS, PS's resident WUM, has goaded someone into biting on a thread based on an article about internet trolls actually represent some level of skill?
