Yeah i totally agree.
Off the top of my head i can't think of many have the ability to mix things up in the same way, leon is an expert on the short game but Jonjo has the ability to have the full range of skills given time.
Not too shabby for £6m quid and i was one of those who groaned when we signed him, im happy to be proven wrong, hope he continues to do well for us.

Not many do have that ability, which was why he drew so many comparisons with Gerrard. Nowhere near the same level of course, but the potential was/is there. I don't think he's the natural athlete that Gerrard is though, meaning he does have to work more on his fitness.
Many fans (especially non-Liverpool supporting England fans) still argue Gerrard plays too many 'Hollywood' balls. If a complete player like Gerrard attracts that kind of criticism, it's not surprising that Shelvey gets much the same complaints from some. |  |

I do think the comparison probably restricted jonjo s progress a little bit too. I think he spent more time perhaps trying to be gerrard when he just needed to concentrate on being jonjo shelvey .
It's all in his hands as far as I'm concerned , he can be a top top player and be his own man, something which I think he starting to realize at Swansea .
