Swansea City striker Wilfried Bony calls for greater work-rate 09:41 - Oct 21 with 399 viewsthomasJack

WILFRIED Bony has called for increased work-rate as Swansea City look to end their poor recent run.

Defeat to Stoke on Sunday made it five top-flight games without a win for Garry Monk's side.

Bony put Swansea ahead with a penalty in the Potteries after Ryan Shawcross had manhandled him.

But Stoke levelled from the spot in controversial circumstances when Angel Rangel was penalised for a foul on Victor Moses.

After an impressive start to the campaign that saw Swansea record successive victories over Manchester United, Burnley and West Brom, progress has stalled.

Though they remain well placed, sitting eighth in the table, just two points have been banked from the last 15 on offer ahead of Leicester's visit to the Liberty this weekend.

And Bony believes only hard graft can turn the tide against the Foxes.

"We know that we didn't win so we are unhappy about that," said the Ivory Coast international, reflecting on his experience at the Britannia.

"We need to work harder, try to take the positive things out of Sunday and look towards the next game.

"We made some good chances and we conceded a goal in a crazy situation. We could not score again. If we had we could have maybe have gone on to win.

"We played well and we looked to win so we are really disappointed."

Only a newspaper puff story, I know, but we really don't want to be reading that sort of nonsense from a player who had a touch like a blacksmith with St Vitus Dance in the second half.

Head down, Wilf, keep quiet, work hard, score some goals. Simple really.
