I've had Sam Lewis's Some People stuck in my head for the last few days now. It sounds like it could have jumped straight out of the sessions for Van's Moondance or Tupelo Honey. It sounds like something that's always been there, something I have grown up with.

In a lot of ways it's reminiscent of Etta James's I'd Rather Go Blind. Perhaps that's why it strikes a reminiscent chord? Come to think of it Both Van Morrison and Etta could have done a Hell of a job with this track too.

I'm amazed how many artists you come up with that I've never heard of
Enjoyed that, by the way.
I saw him live in June, he was great.
There is great stuff out there that never seems to get the mainstream radio play it deserves. If that track went into heavy rotation it would chart, I'm convinced of that. Some people just never seem to get the breaks their talent deserves.

Definite Etta James. Almost to the point of plagiarism.
Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Great thread - I have never heard of this guy and most likely wouldn't but will be sure to keep an eye out from now
Without searching for it is there a thread where people can just put any good music they hear on there like this so we can check it out and decide whether to download it or not (legally obviously)?
Don't know if its because I'm in my late 30's now and am busy with so many other things that I seem to have lost touch with music apart from what I already have in my collection
The old what are you listening too thread was good but haven't seen it for a while

I flippin loves that, great slow lead guitar and the organ is terrific. Thanks for posting that.
That was "Cousin" Kenny Vaughn on lead and Reggie Bradley Smith on Keyboards.
For anybody on here that enjoyed Sam Lewis he's playing up Cardiff on the 29th November in support of Martin Harley. If you haven't happened across Harley before he's another treat in waiting.
