Your mission...
Rate them from 1 to 10.
What you must take into consideration:
1: they must be rated as what impact they've had with our club, astute signings etc... NOT who you like the best.
2: you can take their Swans playing days into your decision as well as their managerial efforts.

Garry Monk
Michael Laudrup
Brendan Rodgers
Paulo Sousa
Roberto Martinez
Kenny Jackett
Brian Flynn
John Toshack
Harry Griffiths
Frankie Burrows

Off you go.

Cullis and Adams for disappearing before they could do any more damage to the club (if that was possible at the time)

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

Absolutely... I couldn't call it. I wanted to put 4 of them joint first.
Good effort there though.

Of those I have seen manage us. Griffiths and Toshack before my time so...

1= Michael Laudrup. Trophy. Europe. First seven months were awesome even if the rest of it wasn't.

2= Brendan Rodgers. Delivered Premier League. Bit too much of a bullshitter but a good boss.

3.= Roberto Martinez. Lovely football. One promotion. Untrustworthy c*nt who'd sell his granny to get on.

3= Kenny Jackett. One promotion. Frequently mocked by idiots. Nice chap. Good to see him doing well.

5= Frankie Burrows. Flat capped legend. Not the most imaginative gaffer but a man who knew the game inside out and his eye for a bargain kept us going in tough times.

6= Paulo Sousa. Did good work picking up the pieces after Martinez left and gave Rodgers a defence to build on. Football was too dull for words.

7= John Hollins. Mad as a bag of badgers but did achieve a promotion. Tedious, but effective. At least for a bit.

8= Jan Molby. Charmed a few people into thinking he was a decent manager. Some still do. Weirdos.

9= Brian Flynn. Shortarse tw*t. Tactically outwitted by Ian Atkins. Worked less hours than Frank Gallagher. Still held in oddly high regard by some.

10= Alan Cork. Nuff Said.

N/R. Garry Monk. Too early to tell yet. Could go either way.

Amended to include Hollins, Cork and Molby.

Rated by impact isn't easy! So I've done it by height (with a few guesses thrown in).

Tosh 1.85 m
Laudstrop 1.83 m
Harry Griffiths 1.83 (estimate)
Monk 1.83 m
Frankie Burrows 1.82 (estimate)
Jenny Jacket 1.80 (estimate)
Sousa 1.77 m
Robertonez 1.75 m
Rodgers 1.70 m
Flynny 1.61 m

Good effort...
Although, some of the signings that were made during Flynn's tenure are still vital to the team 11 years later.
I get that all you say is true but... Those signings.

You missed Molby off the list.

Without him, it's impossible to answer this accurately.

Edit - didn't mean to quote this post. My point was aimed at Starsky's initial incompetence.

He'll of a question fair play. Harry Griffiths followed by Shankly / Tosh and then Brendan.

Tosh would be a lot higher if it had really been him who managed the team, not Bill Shankly

Martinez would be just behind him in second if it wasn't for the Gillingham speech and what followed with Uncle Dave.

Any sentence incorporating the name Appleton shall instantly turn this thread on its head, thus becoming a list of worst managers. Surely he and Cullis would appear in everybody's top two?

I'm still working on the original post, Starsk. Lots of rubbing out / pencil arrows / pros & cons etc. If I crack it, I'll post it! Now, Harry Griffiths was my first manager see, but ...
...oh, there I go again!

Ok Starsk,

1. John Toshack
2. Roberto Martinez
3. Brendan Rodgers

4. Frankie Burrows
5. Brian Flynn

6. Michael Laudrup

7. Garry Monk

I struggle to put Paulo Sousa and Kenny Jackett in there, because I didn't enjoy watching us under them. John Hollins, gets no mention at all, yet was no worse and got us promoted.

See you at Everton,

Enjoy!
