Hmmm I think Jeremy Charles made his debut in 1976 in a league cup 1st round game against Newport. We won 4-1 and he scored twice. .........I Think?

Your team of...

Potter
Evans
May
Bruton
Bartley
Lally
Smith
James
Conway
Curtis
Charles

... sounds like the team that started the '76 season to me bonymine. I loved that team. Two of my greatest ever Swans players are in that team, but I loved watching every one of them. Great memories of Division Four.

Don't forget Paul Harris, signed from Orient and Geoff Bray, signed from Oxford.
Also, Kevin Moore on the wing

Geoff Bray looked uncannily like Robbie James to me!

Kevin Moore came into the team after Mickey Conway suffered an horrific car accident if I recall correctly.

Both were great wingers at that level.

After the abyss of applying for re-election the year before. We signed some decent free transfers.
Paul Harris, Geoff Bray, George Smith, Jan Bekker who didn't quite make it with us.
Geoff Bray score about 16 goals that season... All at home.
We finished mid table. Felt like a proper team.

We signed Jan Bekker from Everwarm in the Welsh League.

Those were the days.

Potter had some dogs abuse back in the day, i remember one guy on the north bank shouting out loudly that if he did his job like Potter, then he would not have a job to go to. Very harsh. Some great names like Pat Lally, george, and kevin moore. Thanks for the post OP.

My favourite Swans team era.

Continually being banned by Planet Swans for Porthcawl and then being reinstated.

He scored 3 goals in 12 appearances then went back to Everwarm (Bridgend).
I thought he was a tidy prospect. He died in 2007 playing a round of golf.

Good shout fair play, but I can make up for that with a new goalkeeper to the thread! Derek Belotti played 19 times in 74/75. An absolute car crash of a keeper! As was midfielder Paul Bevan!

Also some oldies made appearances that season including Herbie.

Others were Ronnie Rees, Tony screen, Geoff Thomas, Paul Abbott and Mickey Evans.

Don't forget Gary Moore signed from Chester.
He scored one of the best goals at the Vetch that season.
I liked Killer Bevan
