Gomis and his "illness" on 15:44 - Jan 25 by Jackfath
Ok Lisa. Once more apologies, I can see I've touched a nerve.
not even slightly.
I just don't quite understand why there aren't enough reasons to wallow in doom and gloom at the moment without inventing more?
I'm not bothered about Gomis - in fact, I said in another thread that if he's not interested and is causing so much trouble I'd get rid of him this week, but the illness he has is not one of the reasons for doing so.

If this "illness" wasn't record in the players medical history when he was signed by us then one does wonder about the legality of his contractual agreement. On the other hand if it was and we didn't act upon it or received poor advice then we are behind the 8 ball as the saying goes.Accurate clarification of these points in needed.

no.
Fainting once or twice a year over a period of many many years is not accurately described as 'fainting constantly'.
It's like saying that a volcano erupting once every 100 years over thousands of years is 'erupting constantly'.
Consistently perhaps, even regularly, but certainly not constantly.
No offence but this struck me as an odd analogy having once been a geology major. the most active volcanoes range between 94-120 year cycles. a volcano is considered still active if its erupted in 10,000 years to give you a gauge on the slow moving cycles.
one might say if one gets drunk a few times a year, they aren't constantly getting drunk...

ha ha - it was used because I happened to be watching a programme about a volcano in Vanuatu with Kate Humble at the time! You are right - it's probably a silly analogy and I know nothing about volcanos :-)
Actually I notice that the comment wasn't even that he faints constantly it was 'continually' which is even more of an exaggeration !!
Your analogy is a better one.

I'm no philosopher either but if someone were to faint continually then they would surely never be conscious....and if they were never conscious, they could not faint...
So a continual faint is in fact a coma? Would explain Gomis performance on Saturday mind.
