Just wanted to pop in as a Southampton fan and say you've got a top notch player on your hands. Deserves to start for good team which I hope he will. Good luck for the rest of the year and I hope Corky is the same player he was for us for you and more!

And the sun shines out of his arse and all

nah - they've invested the Bony money in a new cannabis growing sideline :-)

In all seriousness, very very happy with this signing. Great to see a glaring weakness addressed in the window and with a player of really strong pedigree as well. He could do very well for us for years to come with a bit of luck. Looking forward to seeing him and Ki giving us a much stronger platform in the middle. I was pretty resigned to us getting to Monday with the whole 'we couldn't get better than we already have in the squad' type stuff (as is normally the case) but really pleased to be wrong.

Cork,ki and Ziggy would be my first choice 3

But we have shelvey , Britton and Carroll as back up.

Agree with that.

Leon has been brilliant for us, but age / injuries catching up..

Cork will be great for us.

Is it only me that thinks Ki won't play against Sunderland then? How many games did he play out there in the cup? When does he get back from Oz?

I want a mate like Flashberryjacks, who wears a Barnsley jersey with "Swans are my second team" on the back.

According to Alan Cork on twitter we have only paid £1.5mill if I have read correctly and my maths aren't as bad as I think. Like I said, don't know a lot about him but it's an area we needed strengthening, seems a very good deal.

doesn't he get back on Monday?

I suppose it may be too much to get him to start - depends on how he recovers, but you'd think that 5 or 6 days should be enough (assuming that he doesn't travel back in a cramped seat at the back of the plane after consuming as much free wine as he can grab).

If he's not ready, could go Cork, Carroll, Shelvey or even Cork, Shelvey, Marvin. I don't think personally that Leon has looked right this season - I don't think he's fully fit.

Blimey, if you've got him for 1.5m that is a huge bargain, congrats.

How do you all think the game on Sunday will go?

Gets back Sunday he will be fit after playing all the games in Australia a few days and he would have got over the jet lag.

I note that this is also 'undisclosed'. I only mention that for all those that assume that the reason for us never releasing the fee is that we are always being 'done over'.

Can't see us getting anything out of it to be honest. We're on a dreadful run of form, missing some key players and never do well at your place.

I just hope we put up a bit of a fight, haven't seen enough of that in the past few weeks.

I think without Schneiderlin and Wanyama (and Cork) we'll be weakened in the midfield but I hope Tadic and Pelle have one of their good days, if so we should be up for it. Not counting on anything though, we were dire against Palace in the cup last week.
