Are there any left?
Tried the Beaufort (shut), the Waterloo, the Mill and the St. George for the QPR game a few weeks back. All used to show every game. Barman in the Mill said one of them had been fined heavily and most, if not all, had pulled the plug on it.
Obviously I can watch tomorrow's game from home and I'm hoping to go to West Brom, but just for future reference. Any help would be appreciated. |  | | |  |

The club don't fine anyone. The TV companies (I presume) take action against pubs who broadcast them illegally. It is not an issue to the club at the moment as they sell out all,their home games, though potentially it could become one if we expanded the stadium and failed to fill it.
You can still stream the games from home, the chances of being prosecuted for that are minimal, but the quality is normally awful and there is a much better atmosphere watching with other fans in a pub. | | | |

The pub that was fined, as far as I know, was The Rhyddings. Also, again as far as I know, the people who did the prosecution were the Premier League.
I watch every game at a venue about 5 miles or so from the city centre. These people have their equipment set up so that when any copyright devices of the Premier League are shown on the screen, their system does not allow it to appear. Thereby not infringing any copyright.

The Premier League have a private investigation firm and last season it has visited nearly 200 pubs in south Wales.
Many of the pubs have subscriptions with foreign channels and show Cardiff City and Swansea City's 15:00 GMT Saturday Premier League kick-offs.
These games are unavailable on the Premier League's authorized UK broadcasters - Sky Sports and BT Sport - at the kick-off time.
when a pub or club uses such a subscription to show Premier League football matches, it is breaking copyright law if the League's logo is shown in on-screen graphics, or if the League's anthem is heard before kick-off or at half time.
Tom Richards, a barrister specialising in copyright law, said it was unlikely a pub could screen the games without breaching Premier League copyright.
"The Premier League owns the copyright in its logo, in its anthem and in other bits of sound recording and artwork which are superimposed on any feed of a Premier League match," he said.
"If you play those in a pub without the Premier League's consent that's copyright infringement in the law of copyright.
"Technically speaking, there is a loophole.
"If you could separate out the copyrighted content, such as the Premier League logo, from the match footage, then in theory you wouldn't be infringing copyright.

"In practice it's rather doubtful whether that can be achieved because the Premier League - you can be confident - will make it as hard as possible to separate out the protected from the unprotected content."
Some pubs try to use this loophole by blocking out graphics of the Premier League logo.
But the League says its private investigation firm, ID Inquiries, has not come across any "masking technology" that would stop it taking action against a pub.

I thinks it's fair to say that naming pubs on here could bring them problems. might i suggest as pencoed has mentioned that any pub names go via PM ?
I also think the pubs mentioned on here should be deleted to protect them, it's great that people get to see the away games at the pub, it keeps the interest alive but the last thing we want is to see any pub get a shafting .
Some will disagree with my view and thats fair enough, but we don;t really want the pubs named surely ? why make Skys job easier ?

4 pubs within 5 minutes from my house show all Swans matches.
2 of them have big signs outside saying 'All Swans Matches Shown Live here', the landlords are obviously worried. | |
