Plaid more old old Labour than old Labour, that is what Andrew Neil was saying to the lovely Leanne on a clip I seen the other day, although she said she wouldn't accept that she was all smiles and seemed to be flattered.

Other clips on at least two separate occasions had Neil pleading with the lovely Leanne to speak Welsh to him, the do it, do it now, type of pleading, I say oi butt leave our valley girls alone.

She seemed flattered because Neil told her Plaid was now so unrecognisable that when he looks at her he sees Bessie Braddock?

If you just heard something behind you, Trampie, it's probably the ghost of Lewis Valentine's heart breaking.

Bessie was involved in flooding a Welsh valley to keep Liverpool in water wasn't she ?, as regards Valentine if he was alive today he would need to accept that South Walians make up the bulk of the population and now its one of our girls turn to run the gig.

Correct Trampie - times have changed. Plaid is no longer the party of preachers and teachers, and Leanne herself is proof of that. Leanne is a welsh learner, not a welsh speaker. With labour taking direction from out of touch London labour, then only leanne will stand up for wales and the welsh people. Plus she is lovely as we all know .....

Just seen Plaids new party political broadcast and its very good, very modern and with it, a young man telling his parents i've got something to tell you, i'm voting Plaid the other parties don't turn me on, I used to pretend i'm Labour type of line was very good I thought.
Then there was an office scene which I was not so keen on, but it finished off with a young lady showing her Gran a tattoo which I also thought was good.

You've been completely hoodwinked, old son! I saw that Trampie and I'll tell you what I took from it: however much you would like to see Plaid in the guise of a transformed left-socialist movement the members of its policy directorate clearly have other ideas and still cleave to the party's traditional founding philosphy.

"To cut business rates completely for small business." That's not a new idea from Plaid that's to restate an old theme with new voices. It's pure Maurrassisme and the philosophy of Pays Réel for 2015.

I was fortunate enough many years ago to have been afforded access to the Lewis/Hamm correspondence from the '50s. You obviously know who Saunders Lewis is, Trampie, but do you know of Jeffrey Hamm? He was Mosley's private secretary and hailed from Ebbw Vale. The correspondence covered a range of topics of shared interest but the exchange with special piquance here was that which addressed how small traders and artisans could survive and thrive in the face of chain stores and big business. Their conclusion? "To cut business rates completely for small business."

Is your Leanne cognisant of any of this? I suspect not. Was there any intent to reassure Plaid's traditional, educated base that there are those behind the scenes who haven't lost sight of where the Party came from? I'm inclined think there was.

An idea isn't responsible for those who believe in it.

Cut business rates hey !, a plan for small traders and artisans to survive and thrive in the face of chain stores and big business, you say.

Plaids economic advisor and policy directorate on the ball again by the look of it, as they seem to be a party with a plan, last time looking after war veterans and pensioners did not seem to be a vote winner but we will see what they come up with this time .

You need to create wealth first Lohengrin before you can spread it, I thought you would have realised that one .

Create the wealth and then spread the wealth across society as a whole its not rocket science, I hope we can have that kind of society once more, unfortunately Brit Nats parties [Labour, Tories, Kippers, Libs] want to create wealth and put it all in the pockets of the top 1%.

Not rocket science and most certainly NOT socialism. Plaid are turning again to the petite bourgeoisie as agents of economic resurgence; turning back because that's where they emerged from, that strata of society which regarded "the left" with undisguised loathing.

Jobs and security, did you not see 'The Great European Disaster Movie' the other day - scary stuff if the EU breaks up or we are not in it.

Wales a sovereign nation within Europe and the UN, its the way forward for our great little proud nation.

One of the many problems with some followers of the Brit Nats parties is they are isolationist, they don't want to be part of the world community, having said that as far as I know officials for the 3 established Brit Nats parties are still for Europe, think the Kippers are the only ones that want out [they change their minds about everything all the time so who knows, don't think they know themselves half the time what they stand for].

Pressed the 'up' button instead of the quote button then.

Plaid was seen decades ago as a petite bourgeoisie party for the intelligencia and has evolved into a left of centre party with very strong socialist principles.

Plaid have been 'socialist' for decades and decades and decades, they now have a socialist Queen to top things off, a real socialist Queen [oops she would not like me using the word Queen, me bad] who is red through and through.

They need to break out from their Welsh speaking, rural and dare I say slightly up market in some cases heartlands and start to make in roads into the English speaking industrial towns and valleys of South Wales, fighting for Welsh identity and language has attracted many in the North and West but offering 'socialist' policies might attract many in the valleys in time, once they realise NuLabour are traitors to the working class, im not talking about this election but elections in years to come, if Plaid can dominate Y Fro and Welsh Wales then it wont matter about British Wales as regards getting a majority [im sure you are aware Y Fro gymraeg - Welsh speaking Wales, Welsh Wales - industrial towns and valleys and British Wales - Little England, Vale possibly and the borders], Y Fro and Welsh Wales are the two most closely linked out of the 3 entities - Neath/Port Talbot coming up trumps big time in the devolution winning referendum as you know].

May not be apparent this time but seeds are being sowed for a Welsh 'socialist' or if you prefer since that name is outdated, a Welsh social justice future as opposed to the dog eat dog banker run capitalism that seems to be favoured by Brit Nats particularly in England.

Let me get this straight then, Trampie. What you're telling me is that somewhere deep within a recess of Marine Chambers there is a team of Machiavellian political alchemists at work trying to conjure a future socialist utopia via the advancement of markedly anti-socialist policies?

A believer in conspiracy theories too?

Are you genuinely a Plaid supporter? While I appreciate the party may well have changed somewhat over the years, become a far broader church than was historically the case, surely you must still find yourself in the small minority? Moreover your continual referral to a "class struggle," anathema to earlier generations of Plaid activists, must place you firmly in a minority of a minority. You seem, at least to me, to have very little in you of which nationalists are made.

Trampie - the thing I dislike about some of your posts is your repeated assertions or at least insinuations, that people who don't support Plaid, or agree with Welsh independence or similar, are not as proud to be Welsh as you are.

It's the same thread of argument often used by the Welsh language movement - that people who don't speak Welsh or who don't speak Welsh as their first language even, are somehow 'less Welsh' or less patriotic.

You make constant reference to that sort of thinking on here.

Some of us may be just as proudly, indeed, rabidly Welsh as you are - however, we may have a genuine belief that it is better for the country of Wales to remain a full and equal part of a strong UK. Supporting Plaid does not make you a better Welsh person, it just means that you have different views on how Wales can do better.
