I agree, but today could be seen coming as in other seasons.
Last game I can understand blooding a youngster, but not changes that affect the pattern we play.

The whole point of "weakened sides" was debated and resolved a long time ago. It's a squad game now. The scenario where Liverpool won the league using only 14 players is long gone. |

Well its not a very good example because Aston Villa won the league with 14 players in the 1980/81 season the following season Villa won the European Cup and during that season the Swans beat Villa at the Vetch, i'm pretty sure the score was 2-1 that night and if I remember right Robbie James scored both our goals.
I remember the Liverpool team that won the double in 86 did not have one single English player in it, the starting team in the FA Cup final anyway, although some people now say that Craig Johnson was claimed by England [not sure that was the case at the time]. [Post edited 24 May 2015 22:16]

I was there with a mate, did we care that Williams and Taylor did not play? (be it resting them or due to injury) no we did not, did I care that the likes of siggy and Jonjo didn't play? did we hell! It was a nothing game, we knew that well in advance and were glad to see some youngsters. All in all a decent day with cracking noise from our fans. I'm also glad they didn't play as the wales game is the only football match worth looking forward to over the next few months. |  |
