I liked Chico. Great defender, comfortable on the ball. He'd be great buy for many teams in the Premier league. Narcissistic at times, but unfairly hammered on here IMHO.

I think Chico was going for the publicity with the selfie. Just as he did by having his pet monkey with him who shares his surname :-)
I have no issue with this. he is a character and a showman and pretty bonkers with it. The game needs characters like this and it does not harm imho.

We signed Ash for £400k in the Summer before our first season in the Championship. Relatively speaking, that's a bigger outlay than spending £2m on Chico after our first season in the Premier League. You can't compare what they have achieved here, but Chico was still undoubtedly value for money.
He is still a complete afterthought now though, great player, but choosing to play in the Middle East over the Premier League at that stage of his career says a lot about him. Very few players stay relevant after they leave us. Ash will be remembered in 10 years time. Chico won't. | | | |

Ashley Williams is a club legend, I'm not comparing Chico with him. But we signed Chico for pennies in premier league terms, was a good signing which made our first eleven stronger at the time. Just don't understand why people look to rip into ex players on the first giving opportunity. |
