Wouldn't the scenes at Calais prove that some nations are in fact "better" than others and that some people, historically, have made bad choices about where to settle?
I would also rather clean toilets in Rickmansworth on a minimum wage than live in Somalia or Eritrea. those countries are inhospitable shltholes full of sand and rock.
I don't buy into all this looney left crap about flagellating ourselves over a colonial past and constantly apologising for percieved historical injuries. Most nations have a murky past but that doesn't mean they have to welcome millions with open arms until their town or city resembles a swarming colony of ants. If that's the rationale maybe they should relocate The State of Israel to Germany.I'm sure Merkel would love Bavaria being turned into a giant Kibbutz. They could grow Helmut Kohl-Rabi

If Corbyn wins the Labour leadership race he needs to make it clear that the Tories currently within the Labour party are no longer welcome, now that is an awful lot of Tories, but he needs to do it and take Labour back to its socialist roots, if he wins his first address should be that he is prepared to work with Plaid the SNP and the Greens and that he has more in common with them than lots of people currently in the Labour party who should be told that they are not welcome anymore.

No, not everywhere. Nor did my post indicate I believe all Corbyn supporters are anti-semitic or indeed have a distain for women ( a part you missed out in your post ).
If you seriously don't believe it's an issue in the Labour leadership contest - the contest for a party freely claiming to want all forms of equality - then you're plain wrong. When Kendall and Cooper have repeated been abused using gender specific terms then it's an issue. When known anti-semites have been backing Corbyn - and indeed in the case of Eisen, claiming to have received funding from Corbyn, then there's an issue.
Giving Corbyn the benefit of the doubt, I'm sure it's just a co-incidence he's attracted some of the followers he has. His silence on addressing the issues has to be of some concern. For one thing, the worse this gets the more chance of Labour MPs going for a new contest. Sadly for Labour, that can only happen a year after the leadership election, potentially a year of the party being ripped apart. | |

The bottom person is eliminated each round are they not unless one candidate reaches a clear winning majority?
That's why Ed won - as each candidate went out, the union votes went to their next favoured candidate so at the end, Ed won even though Dave won every other round.
If the first round showed it would be a clear Corbyn - Burnham fight with Kendall and Cooper trailing by a large margin, which I've an inkling might be the case, then I'd be surprised if whichever wasn't eliminated didn't pull out at that point. | |

Kendal should certainly have pulled out by now. She's a distant fourth and she could have thrown her weight behind Burnham or Cooper. It amuses me no end how Labour, or at least its grandees and some MPs, seem terrified of electing an actual socialist as leader. | |

I agree on the first point but Labour's losing in 2020 anyway so they may as well present the leftist manifesto and then wriggle back to the hugely overrated centre ground by 2025 by when everyone's sick of the Tories and it'll be Labour's turn again. | |
