Two points is bugger all in cricket. They get six for a home run by hitting the ball into the crowd with their racquet.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Pointless putting some team in to bat first unless you have bowlers to take advantage

"When you win the toss — bat. If you are in doubt, think about it, then bat. If you have very big doubts, consult a colleague — then bat."

W.G. Grace.

If the Aussies win the toss tomorrow England can kiss the Ashes goodbye.

I hope Ingram can stay in. Young Aneurin Donald is in now only 18 and England under 19 captain. He's also the great nephew of Glammy great Bernard Hedges who died last year.
Glammy have a sniff here.....

Shades of 2005. A drubbing at Lord's, a team written off as no-hopers and out of its depth. Edgbaston beckons. Let's get it on.

Good point. I still think the toss will be crucial though.

Usually is. We've got a good record at Edgbaston. Always a great atmosphere too. I'm excited. And working. F*ck.

Not much choice in the squad really and no one from county cricket really banging down the door with weight of runs. Looks like Finn's coming in for Wood.

Well done Ingram a fine century there, if he can stay in we could sneak this....

Going back to test tomorrow, does Rashid have a chance of playing?

Me and my old man going to the Swalec for Glamorgan v Essex on Friday.
£60 for a 3 course meal, wine, ashes on the screens in the bar, several hours of cricket......and a padded seat is good value for money

As someone who has never been to the cricket before, do you pay ticket price per test, or do they charge per day of the test?

Usually you get tickets separately for each day because of the nature of Test Cricket. You could get a ticket for a five day test that's all over in three.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

It just go's to prove how average Botham was when you compare Botham to players of the same era playing county cricket at the same time, Clive Rice had a far better batting and bowling average than Botham, Imran and Hadlee were in a different league ahead of Botham.
Aren't the English embarrassed bragging up players that are not a patch on the Worlds best or do they really believe the hype of their press that are just trying to sell newspapers and the like.
