Spoke really well, "Ash going nowhere". What a fantastic appointment by Huw. Makes me feel proud to be a Swans fan.

I was told yesterday that Gomis was definitely staying this season as he sees game time giving him the best chance of playing for France next year in the Euros. If he performs for us he's almost guaranteed a first team place. That may not be the case elsewhere. Makes sense to me.

He's behind Benzema, Giroud, Remy and a few others in the pecking order. Playing well for Swansea City does not make someone a shoe-in for their national side. Just ask Fernandez.

Especially the French national side unfortunately due to the players they have at their disposal. Fingers crossed he gets his head down now, will be a massive player for us next year. [Post edited 29 Jul 2015 12:57]

In fairness to johnlangy, I'm sure he meant almost guaranteed a place in their squad for France16, not the actual starting 11. Which is a pretty fair assumption.

Barring injuries, he's likely competing for a hypothetical 4th striker slot. Unless he tears up the league this season. Fingers crossed.

A 20+ goal season for Gomis would put him in the French squad for the finals NQAT!

Not at all, I thought he was clueless at times and struggled with the concept of what we are all about.

Wasn't Monk singing his praise last year? Saying that he instilled a mental strength into the team.

And some bloody good players. Jacket's record after us proves he had something about him too (at Champ level and below).
