Yes he did a great job for us but he left to a championship side ....if he was that good why didn't a premiership side take a punt at £1m Why because he didn't have it! One footed and self promoted but still gave us lots of entertainment and helped us on our way but let's not delude ourselves he wouldn't have cut it it in the premiership then and couldn't now!

Can't say stuff like that around here.

Undoubtedly a major catalyst in our rise. Gave us national exposure for the first time since I had been a fan and made it cool to support the Swans. Agree with everyone else though, he looked like a flat track bully in the lower leagues, but didn't make much of an impact in the Championship when he was at his prime. Still an absolute JB and a prominent part of our recent history. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

As opposed to your players and managers, who tend to flop after joining you.

He made two big mistakes IMHO. Firstly staring too late in football by farting around until he was 24. The second was leaving us and joining completely the wrong club that played an entirely different game. I think he freely admits to both. I think he was at least championship standard and could have made the grade in the top flight. A unique and special talent both on and of the pitch. One footed? No problem. There are plenty if them in the Prem. When you have a left peg like that and such a football brain then it is not necessarily a huge handicap. Anyways I have done this to death many times and ain't arguing the toss any more. Just offering my opinion. [Post edited 5 Aug 2015 12:59]

Exactly Swervey I don't get it either,we've had some wonderful players over the years and the majority of them were nowhere good enough for the Prem. Anyway pound for pound Trundle is streets ahead for goals and entertainment for the last three decades.

I think when Darran states 'could still do a job' people rightfully assume he means now, for us. Agree completely with what he says about entertainment, there have been few more entertaining at any level for anyone. He had the goals to back it up as well. His career never hit the heights after leaving us though, including his second spell here.
Could still do a job on 21:41 - Aug 5 with 2030 views | vetchonian | The opening post suggests that the legend that is Lt10 could still do a job. As we are now in the PL this OP suggests playing atone current level. My observations just state whilst he was entertaining and good for us at his time with us he found his level, which is not at a where we are now.

Could still do a job on 21:57 - Aug 5 with 1997 views | Joe_bradshaw | LT was great for us and we were great for him. He put bums on seats and entertained us royally for a few years. He had kids queuing up to have a Trundle haircut. He helped enormously to raise our profile through his media appeal at a time when it needed raising. To claim that we wouldn't be where we are now without him is wrong and a bit of an insult to the many players that have had an equal or greater influence on our rise through the divisions. LT took part in one promotion and one only. He is doing a job for us now and one to which he is eminently suited.

Do you really think Darran seriously thinks that Trundle could be a striker in the premier league for us?

Yes. He loves Trundle and didn't use a smilie to indicate he was joking.
