Funny that you look at a list like that and realise, most of the goal scorers only spend a season or two with us. I guess that’s unlikely to change — anyone who can bang in 20 goals a season will get snapped up by one of the big boys.
Funnily enough, with Gomis being 30, there is more chance of retaining him for a couple more years, as he’s probably too old for a top club to spend millions on. |  |

It's a weird feeling trying to play down Gomis after spending much of the start of last season defending him, but I guess I'll do it anyway.
Gomis is a superb out and out goalscorer, but Bony's all round game is better than his by a fair stretch. If Bafe manages as many assists as Wilf by the end of this season, never mind matching the 25 goals he scored in 13/14 (although given the lack of Europe 20 goals would be a fair comparison) I may reappraise that opinion, but I doubt it. | |
