Southampton on the verge of joining West Ham

Are they both crap, or don’t want to be in Europe?

Out they go, same as Hull last year.

Tossers.

As usual, neither of the crap clubs that have to qualify can get anywhere near our performance. Hull last year and now all that effort to qualify (Soton; Ham made no effort) and then they surrender to a semi pub team.

Hope they both go down anyway.

It's a sad state of affairs that so many clubs the need to be successful in the Premier League outweighs a European adventure.

The rest of Europe takes the Europa League seriously.

Difficult to say if they didn't fancy the Thurs/sun grind and suffer in the prem or they were just awful which tonight they really were. We know what the conspiracy theorists would say!

Did they have a scratch side out?

I did think West Ham would struggle this season and put them in my 3 for relegation, was surprised they beat Arsenal on the opening week but Arsenal were pathetic. that day.
I think Southamptons form is just a blip and they will finish a comfortable mid table posistion saying that Caulker is there now so they may go down also with his record for relegation.

I can't understand this attitude at all.

There are only 2 European competitionz, there used to be 3. For teams like west ham and Southampton the champions league is a virtual impossibility.

So why wouldn't they give it their best shot.

Caulker? Caulker? F***ing Caulker??? When did that happen? No wonder they lost. Play him and they're going down.

More or less full strength that isn't it? I'm not familiar with numbers 14 and 15, all the others are regulars.

8 of the starting XI tonight, started on Saturday against Watford, while 2 more starters, came on against Watford. So yep, quite a strong team.

14 is Romeu, they bought/loaned him from Chelsea. He could'nt get a game there. I believe he spent 2 or 3 years out on loan. Defensive midfielder to replace lad sold to man utd.

Southhampton made like two changes between the premiere match and the europa one.. and those who changes were on the bench. they really need to rest some players now and again.

And interestingly they are now banging on about not having a decent defensive midfielder who can carry the ball and create things.

I mean if they had someone like Jack Cork that would surely fix their problem ......

PS - I know it's late, I work stupid shifts like yesterday 10am finishing at 2.30am today. But I get Sunday off to spend with the family. ( until 3pm ) 😂

The rest of Europe don't have the financial incentives for retaining PL status.

Added to that you have West Ham changing stadiums at the end of the season and you can understand why they've put league survival ahead of progressing in Europe at the top of their priority list.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Their form last season was a blip. Lower mid table at best, if they're lucky.
