I see that an investigation has now been launched into whether English coaching staff illegally approached the match officials at half time. Supposedly there is video footage of it.
One thing that hasn't really been mentioned about the match is the officiating.
Given the pressures that Monmouth referred to earlier in the week about the 'desire' for England to go through, the refereeing was very fair and unbiased - the match officials did a good job of not bowing to any pressure to be 'homers'. | | | |

Reds for Burgess and Farrell would have been harsh and at that point, yellow / red didn't matter as there were less than 10 mins to go. Burgess should have seen yellow as well though.

I thought Poite had a good game. A few times I felt he let England hold onto the ball a bit long after the tackle, but he did penalise them numerous times for it too, and heavily penalised their scrum. He should have penalised Dan Cole for taking Ashley-Cooper(?) without the ball, after he nearly intercepted an England pass. TMO said to have a word with the England player. Have a word FFS. | |
