When lady p and I look for a break in the winter we always go city, often Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool mainly because of things to see and do . I enjoy the buzz of human behaviour and cultural /architectural magnificence rather than bleak vistas on a lonesome beach or hill.
It's for this reason the Lake District ,to us, is utterly depressing . | |

Gower is beautiful and I was frolicking around on the beaches and moors before you were born.
I love it.
Liverpool beaches? Fookn off Andy is it. Look at the map.
Moss side? Why not pick out a magnificent city centre with real vibe. It's why millions visit the CITY.
Please don't tell me you re some sort of rambler cadet.
Leeds is great too and Newcastle.
When it's pissing down, it's nice to go someone .
Really, you guys have to get those meloncholic bitter chips off those shoulders.
Jesus h. The beacons are bleak as are the Pennines but really only marines or nutters would want to spend time there in the foul weather.
Btw, we re surrounded by beaches here but only a complete cretin would swim in them because it's shallow and muddy.
I did police charity swims for several years and actually came face to facd with all manner of small dead mammals.not pleasant .

I dont understand how Nikki Beach,Marbella,Spain is in there...its featureless much the same as any beach in a warm sunny climate....there are nicer beaches than that,...

Bony, the coast from Lisbon down to Cape St Vincent is wild ,vast, unspoilt and powder sand with crystal water. Fookn freezing though.
