Cullis - dark days 07:53 - Feb 9 with 6098 views | epaul | Interesting read. I was in the Clarence with Pete Owens and few others when not that we knew at the time Cullis and Molesworth approached us it was the home game before they "took over" they flashed some badges at us saying they were scouts from Loserpool and we're asking us our opinion on the players. They only went and used that in a press conference! Anyways dark days http://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/remarkable-story-kevin [Post edited 9 Feb 2016 8:58]

Cullis - dark days on 08:30 - Feb 9 with 2544 views | jackonicko | That Blackpool game was an absolute shambles. Tuesday night, about 37 in the away end, and an absolute clusterf*ck on the pitch. However, I actually have quite good memories of the Swindon game. Swindon were flying high at the time and we put in a decent performance, narrowly losing 1-0. Not the darkest of days - those were still to come. And it led to the arrival of Molby, so not all bad. I seem to remember it was Thompson/Cullis/Molesworth (and let's face it, probably Molesworth) who initiated the Molby connection.

I have to say I never think of the Jan Molby period as dark days.. I recall Seven Floor did not want him on his wages and he as shown the door. This after narrowly missing promotion and getting us playing some lovely football. He went on to do the same at Kidderminster who came down the Vetch a played football years ahead of its time.

Cullis - dark days on 13:37 - Feb 9 with 2186 views | vetchonian | And some peeps on here think the last couple of months have been a joke. That week is one to forget....or remind us what could have been.....like Petty Whilst Silver Shield/Ninth floor were only really interested in the long term commercial opportunities which is why they bailed out when our "clever" council wanted control of the commercial development associated with the new stadium at Morfa (and then what happened it went to another commercial outfit) but they were brought to us by a fan Steve Hamer, whose brother is involved with the trust . Now our board are fans who originally were not in it for the money and who are still fans at heart BUT?

I'll never forget the day it cane on Swansea Sound next that Steve Hamer had been sacked,I couldn't get my head around the fact the chairman has been sacked. I think it was the day before we lost 5-1 away at Reading.

The football was certainly not under Molby-it was a joy to watch. One re-taken John Frain free kick away from promotion. The worst I have felt after a game that day.

Uuugghh.... you had to remind me. Retaken as well after Coates(??) went a fraction early first time around. Can still vividly remember that moment of disappointment. Felt that is was hugely undeserved made worse by the army of plastic Northampton fans who only knew one song [Post edited 9 Feb 2016 14:56]

Cullis - dark days on 15:04 - Feb 9 by Darran | Aye all down hill and back to league 2. For some reason it was a strangely enjoyable season with Savarese getting a hat-trick away at Luton when we lost 5-3 being one of the highlights. I vowed that day I'd never go to Luton ever again. |
Mark Aizlewood was a big fan of Savarese

It was Jon Coates. We outplayed them over 90 minutes, and as you say a load of plastics who knew one song and could make sheep noises . Just a horrible day at the old cesspit

Just found this about the Savarese sending off. http://www.redpassion.co.uk/oldsite/news/news1605.htm

I remember Savarese's debut (was it against Stoke?) He scored a couple and I remember my Dad and I thought he was the classiest forward we'd seen at the Vetch for ages. That Luton game was great as well - was that the day that I was with Richard (and Warwick) and he drove into someone's car? Can't remember, but it may have been - I've been to Luton on many occasions :-)

Things were looking a little grim up until the Stoke game and then after Savareses debut I thought we were going to stay up. How wrong. Last home game of the season when we beat Brentford 6-0 is a memory too.

Cullis - dark days on 14:52 - Feb 9 by Jackanapes | I heard about it the day of the Reading game in Weatherspoons in Reading. I may be wrong but i think it was Ranieries first game at Chelsea( 3-3 with someone) It was the day we all had to walk from the city center escorted by Heddlu cos some stupid tvvat kicked the window out of the bus we were on. Sat in our seats as Reading went 1 up. All down hill from there. [Post edited 9 Feb 2016 14:52]

That Jamie cureton always had a field day against us. It's strange that when we were in the lower leagues players like that always seemed like gods, but now we've been playing against the likes of suarez and aguero you realise how shit they and we were.

Yep - it was. Seem to remember meeting Mr Sumbler and Gary Martin outside a chippie near the ground. Rich pranged some poor bugger's car reversing into a parking space. If you thought Rich's parking was scary you really didn't want to be on a motorway with him...(Southend away in a night game was particularly terrifying as we struggled to make kick-off - Rich's trademark manic chuckle tailgating someone at 90mph only made things worse). We went to see someone who Petty (who was there that day but kept a very low profile) had shafted on a business deal on the way home. Happy days - sort of. [Post edited 9 Feb 2016 16:44]

I think we may have met them in a pub but could be wrong. I'm sure Phil S was collecting money for the trust, at least I remember giving him money for something - maybe it was chips instead ;-) And the bloke who'd had dealings with Petty - I seem to remember driving to some sort of farm or small holding to meet him!! They were happy days - in a strange and probably stupid way, I actually used to enjoy games then much more than I ever do now really - it all just seemed more of a laugh!
