Barring Villa, because let's be honest, they're f*cked.

Our run in is tricky, but none of them have it easy. Probably have to just about favour Norwich to creep clear considering they've still got Newcastle and Sunderland to come at Carrow Road, but it's far from cut and dried.

Palace will be thanking the Gods they've already got points on the board given their run in and the form they're in.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Palace also have a cup semi - possible final. They only really need to draw games against the others though.

Yeah, they'll probably survive but it'll be closer than it should have been given their start. Big questions for Pardew in the summer.

If I was a betting man Id put thruppence on Palace going down. They have some lovely downward momentum plus the cup thing.

Are two out of Newcastle, Sunderland and Norwich going to haul that point deficit back?

I think that Newcastle have the best run in, only one Top four side and 2 top ten sides.
With a new Manager they could easily pull clear.
Today should give us an indication.
Don't foget they have that world class player Shelvey now as well.

Why bother comparing run ins when there are are no easy games, as anybody can beat anybody. We were shite yesterday but no doubt we'll beat Leicester, Chelsea, Liverpool & City.

Just had a look at the fixtures and it could be that we may well need another 4 maybe 6 pts to be sure, l think the sides down there Villa apart and maybe palace could well pick up 12pts or more it's a tall order, but we've seen before that it can be done, probability is that we'll probably may need 3pts but you never know,

Swans 36 from 31
Palace 33 from 30
Norwich 28 from 31
Sunderland 26 from 30
Newcastle 25 from 30

Thoughts?

We are actually in great form - theoretically. I read somewhere that since the Sunderland monstrosity we have 17 points from 10 games. Or, over a season, 65 points and around 5th place. Yes, I know, the opponents matter, but it's still a stunning result for a team kicking around the arse end of the league. Agonising it may have been, but no one can argue that it's done the job.

It's now maybe time to start thinking of catching Watford and Everton (edit plus WBA of course), who are both in terrible league form and preoccupied with the cup, instead of obsessing over teams much further away from us?

??

They have Liverpool, Man City, Spurs and Southampton left. Could easily lose all those which means they'd have to win the other 4 to overtake us.

One of the things to bear in mind a bit as well is they play Villa in Villa's last home game in the league. No pressure on Villa, big crowd probably so not as easy as we may think.

We''re all nervous naturally, but if we were mid table at the moment and looking down on the league with passing interest as to who'll go down, we'd never think in a month of Sundays that the team sitting on 36 points will be anything other than safe.

We would all think that it's two from Norwich, Newcastle and Sunderland and we'd be right.

I'd settle for those 3 wins but your point is very valid, this season particularly the results have been very unpredictable so over analysing fixtures will only create further anxiety - Liverpool are very inconsistent, even within the same 90 minutes, so I suspect 3/4 more points + our better goal difference will be plenty.

I'd love us to win at Stoke just to move fully into mid-table but I'd take your 3 wins right now!

I'm liking the fact all 4 of the sides you mention have something to play for with the league/ top 4 & European places all still up for grabs.

Only problem the games we have left with the exception of Chelsea/Newcastle are in a similar position

Stoke haven't got much to play for in reality.

The biggest games left for us are the games between Norwich, Newcastle, Sunderland. Couple of draws there and we're laughing.

The draw yesterday was huge for us.

With GD, Sunderland and Newcastle now have to effectively claw back 11 & 13 point deficits on us in the last seven games. Norwich now four points ahead of Sunderland, who have yet to visit Carrow Road.

Looking increasingly like Villa and a Northeast double for the drop.
