Like them or loathe them, what a massive achievement.

Agreed, begrudging congratulations from me. Didn't want them to win it.

Swansea City, THE Austerity Club.

Well done Leicester.

A real rags to riches story. Fantastic. Haven't seen anything like this since Lance Armstrong went from mediocre to champion!

Congrats!

anyone able to list the teams that have won the top tier in, say, the last 50 years? It can't be too many because Utd and Liverpool must have won most of them

You think they'll benefit from refereeing decisions to the same extent? That their long ball style will be as effective?

Ranieri's star is shining brighter than it ever has. He'll be in demand. No chance he'll want to hang around and lose out on a bigger job.

Players will go as well.

Yes you're correct. First new club to win it for 38 years. (since Forest). Most amazing thing I've ever seen in football. It's a bit like Bannister running the 4 min mile -only quite clearly more ridiculous.

Made a mockery of the big spending clubs. A £23m team winning the Premier League. Well done Ranieri, a fantastic achievement.

Swansea Indepenent Poster Of The Year 2021. Dr P / Mart66 / Roathie / Parlay / E20/ Duffle was 2nd, but he is deluded and thinks in his little twisted brain that he won. Poor sod. We let him win this year, as he has cried for a whole year. His 14 usernames, bless his cotton socks.

Sorry, must have misheard it.

Next season will be really interesting. Who's to say they can't finish top 4/5 again? Don't forget that they've won the league with two games to go too.

Summer will be interesting too. Wonder who will be poached, and will they want to leave the reigning champions? Also, will Leicester be able to pull in some big names?

I'm actually amazed people are being stupid enough to lump on them getting relegated next season. Not a cat's chance. They are a very good side. They'll cause problems to teams in the CL next year. I very much doubt they'll do anything of note in the League but they'll be nowhere near relegation.

Leicester's direct style has taken some stick on here, but they have the players to make it work, especially Vardy. His ability to get on the end of a long, speculative punt up the field and convert it into a goal is uncanny. It wouldn't work for us because we haven't got a fast, skilful centre-forward. Having said that, that is exactly how Ayew played yesterday.

We had a mention in Harry Redknapp's Telegraph column today:

".... I always preferred playing against sides that would pass and pass than those that were more direct, that had the penetration. We’d set traps for those teams.

I remember at Spurs playing Swansea at White Hart Lane, when they were playing very well, and we encouraged them to play out of the back and then went to press them high up the pitch, won the ball back high up and suddenly you’re in. If we couldn’t win it back early, we got into shape and knew they would have to put a lot of passes together to break us down."

His point is if you're going to play a possession based passing game, you need some individual brilliance, eg L Messi, to make it work.

So each to his own. Leicester are fast, direct and accurate in their finishing. They have played to their strengths and deserve their success. Well done Foxes.
