Safe standing 10:53 - May 5 with 2586 views | Highjack | To be introduced by Celtic next season based on the German model of rail seating for 2600 fans. Could we follow suit and get some much needed atmosphere back into football?

Safe standing on 13:51 - May 6 by Phil_S | This of course is not true because of the law that banned standing areas in top-flight football in England. |
Some good news at last for Cardiff fans then......

Safe standing on 14:34 - May 6 with 688 views | airedale | A mate of mine was working for a shipper down the East side when he was a lad, and another lad he worked with invited him for lunch the coming Saturday and then to go and watch W Ham. This was early 1960s before they won the World Cup. They had their lunch and time to go when the W Ham lad said 'I'll go get the boxes from the shed', and duly returned with 2 wooden pop boxes which the boys took to the ground so that they could stand on them to watch the football.

Well, we do have a standing area of sorts. The Canton Stand is the area where a bind eye is turned people persistently standing, with official approval - same happened when in Prem.

Yes so introducing the railings would actually improve ground safety. A no brainer really. Would it also be a means to increase the ground capacity as well?

Definitely should increase capacity. A lot depends on the area that would be used for safe standing. In Dortmund it's 81,000 for a normal league game but 65,000 for a European game where everybody has to be seated. In other grounds in Germany that difference isn't so great.
