Thanks WK, but I've had a long line of Brittanys, the last of whom died in a most distressing way a few months ago. I was so distraught that my eldest son insisted that I get another dog as soon as possible. He reminded me that this is the first time in almost 50 years that I have not had at least one dog. I activated a link with two old friends who many years ago helped me to get two Whippets, retired from their "jobs," and they had another lined up almost immediately. She's 6 and a retired show dog. Like my first two, she's most pleasant and well-behaved, with a pure Whippet sense of humour. Best medicine on the planet. When I saw the video at the link, I remembered how Murphy [my last Brittany] spent much of two nights while I was very ill, lying on my bed, against my side, with one leg over my arm, and giving my arm a gentle lick now and then until I fell asleep. It's sad to have to get sick to see such pure love and deep concern. Here's my Whippet, "Blackie."

Sorry about that sir, whippets are great dogs too. Father in law has one and the last one passed away last year. My lab loves them both and they go mental running around.

Regarding the dogs' behaviour, I don't need a video to see that, as I had the same thing going on at my home, which my friends used to call "Dog Disneyland." Why other dogs seem to think they can outrun or catch their Whippet pack mate is something I'll never understand.
