When it comes to money in politics, aren't they equally as bad? When it comes to foreign policy, that's where I'm worried because that will affect us.

'Clinton looks after elites' you say? The Donald actually admitted in the debate that he didn't pay tax - he described it as 'smart'. He also openly admitted that he had used the law to avoid paying people that he owed money to - hence his multiple bankruptcies.
And the Trump Foundation is as bad as the Clinton Foundation if not worse.
I don't like Hillary at all, but anyone that watched the debate last night (I did, in full) and considers the two of them 'as bad as each other' is genuinely missing the point.
And as an aside - if Hillary had spent 90 minutes sniffing more than a deranged dog presented with a rotting bird, the right wing nut jobs that spend their days in worship of the Donald would have simultaneously had her at death's door and held her behaviour up as "proof" of her hitherto undisclosed cocaine addiction. For a woman with 'serious health problems' she ended the 90 minutes in far better shape than he did.
Still, she doesn't have a 'secret plan' to defeat ISIS, nor can she point to her ten year old being 'great on computers' as evidence of her ability to tackle cyber crime. |  | | |

The Senate is important, sure. But when it comes to Supreme Court justices, the weight of influence sides with the President.
Take this past year, for example, Obama wanted to name a Supreme Court justice to replace the deceased Antonin Scalia, he knew that his ideal choice would never get through a Republican Senate, and the Senate at the time had no interest in approving virtually any nomination he put forward, thus, gridlock ensued.
However, there had been considerable pressure upon the Senate, not the President, to confirm an appointment because it is customary to do so (within reason). One of the reasons the Republican-held Senate held off from confirming Obama's nominee is that they wanted to wait until the "public had spoken" and chosen a new president, and only then will they confirm.
So it is entirely reasonable to think that the new president, whoever that may be, will enjoy considerable influence in the appointmentt of the next Supreme Court justice. And, given that both Clinton and Trump have said what type of nominee they will put forward, there will be a massive shift in ideology of the court. It will either maintain the status quo in regards to money in politics (via a Trump win) or it will not (via a Clinton win).

Hence why the senate elections are equally important, no judge can be appointed without the backing of a majority senate rule. Extreme candidate appointments can be effectively vetoed by the controlling majority. Current structure sees a Trump win get free reign, but a democrat swing helps to curb this.
Also, it seems the weight of power falling on the example given favoured the senate, by their ability to delay his recommendation. Although I do understand your point. ;)
Like I said, I could not bring myself to vote on either. I'm probably different type of voter to most as I don't vote on the lesser of two evils (never made the claim they were equally as bad) but on who I would like to see be in charge, and neither tick that box for me, so I would not be able to commit to a vote. |  |

I wouldn't argue about the rest of it, but the earpiece sounds perfectly feasible. They all wear earpieces anyway, even when not on tv they use them for security purposes.
The hand signals thing, well who knows but if the mediator was biased toward Clinton I doubt he'd need prompting to help her out or dump on Trump. It's politics though so I wouldn't really be surprised.
I'm critical of both candidates, I think they are both dangerous just for different reasons. But I can't help it, I know Trump is a nut job but when I look at Clinton I just see a liar, someone equally as untrustworthy as Trump.

If she was not married to Billy Bob, she would probably be Hillary Rhodham who would be either a successful lawyer or a Congresswoman or a Senator. Without the scandals I would love her to be President and I think she would be a very capable president, but the questions against her weigh against her candidacy. Nothing would surprise me in American politics, not even an election being rigged. It doesn't make much difference to me though seeing as I believe whoever wins and becomes POTUS, America loses.
These two candidates have some similitude but the world is probably safer if Clinton wins, Trump is just itching for a fight with somebody. His finger on the button is a scary thought.
Though maybe we could put Trump and Putin in a room (maybe several other world "leaders" too) and say last person standing wins. | |
