Has anyone heard any more on the Gylfi to Leicester deal?

I've seen that in a dutch paper - De Telegraff we have been linked with a £2.5m for a CB Mike Van Der Hoorn

As much as I don't want Ayew to leave if it involved a deal bringing Joey home I'd take it

What do you reckon on the value of each player? Joey plus cash for Ayew maybe?

I would take joey plus 5-6 mill for Ayew. seems that allens value is 10 mill and Ayew is about 15-16 so pretty reasonable. Provided we replace Ayew with quality that is. But if we can get joe without Ayew in deal we should.

To my way of thinking though, if Joey comes back, will we have too many midfielders?

"There has been talk of interest from Sevilla and that would be a significant move that makes sense from both perspectives. The Europa League champions are astute in the market and might get Allen for a good price, while he in turn could benefit from testing himself abroad. Gareth Bale has thrived and Ramsey wants to try Spain too. You can imagine the trio talking about the possibilities.

Premier League clubs are tracking Allen too, inevitably, including Leicester, Southampton, Stoke, Bournemouth and West Bromwich. For his part, Allen would want to join a club playing attractive football and it is easy to see where he might fit into a number of sides."

Poll: Where will we finish in the Championship ?

Never seen so much speculation in one article. Good God. I think the lad who wrote it is just naming teams that he'd like Allen to play for. The only constant link thoughout the last 6 months with Allen has been Swansea, and he writes we 'were' interested suggested we're not anymore.

RE: Zaza, who is the type of signing the club should be aiming for

i'd file it under unlikely if this is to be believed

Agree entirely. This whole thread should have a 'likely to be bullsh1t' warning at the start. I can't see Joey going anywhere but coming home, unless his stock rises so much because of the publicity someone comes in and out-bids us.

Joey linked with a club that'll destroy his career (but make him cheap for us to buy and re-train in a couple of years)

If you wake up breathing, thats a good start to your day and you'll make many thousands of people envious.

Celtic,really!?!

Scottish football has gone backwards in recent years and a teams name alone will not pull a player in todays world of football. They are going to need around 8-10M and atleast 60k a weeks wages.

The original story I heard on this at least a week back is that Brenda was after Joey and Tayls. Could be a ferdy and buried in here somewhere.

Joe Allen would be a good signing, but not a fantastic one. He is not really the midfield schemer/play-maker we need and won't score many goals. If we got rid of Ayew and signed Joe instead it would not strengthen the team.

Maybe not, but Joey would suit our team better than Ayew.
