Nope, it wasn't. Fer is our Joey. Baston is our Bony. Fer seems determined to make a contribution despite how he often looks on the pitch, so it's hard to criticise him. And Baston may be fantastic for us for all we know.

No, I think a lot of people wanted us to get Bony as soon as it became clear that he was surplus to requirements at the Etihad whether that was a purchase or loan and if that had happened, Baston would probably have been dropped off the list and maybe even Llorente too. Once we had both, to have Bony as well was never a possibility. | | | |

I've always had doubts about the argument that we can't hope to have more than two front line strikers and a junior backup.
