Just watched the first episode. It was ok. Most of the characters are walking cliches and the Welsh fella playing the Gene Hunt-esque former copper turned private dick was a bit silly. Robbie Coltrane is good though, he always is. |  |

Yeah...powerful but not ringing true to me. Acting is good but characters seem quite narrowly drawn so far. Especially the wife.
The dilemma of name/not name was interesting. Seems a fair idea until you're on the receiving end.

Fact is, girl 1 would never have written that letter, so there were some plot contrivances to get to the result they wanted, but I thought the distinction between the public and private elements were quite well drawn, mainly through the acting. | |
